Texas, our Texas 는 텍사스 주의 노래이다 (The official Song of Texas).

미국 국가가 있고 각 주마다 주의 노래가 따로 있다.

야구, 미식축구 같은 공식적인 행사때 사용되기도 하고 불리울때는 국가연주때와 같이 텍사스 주기에 대해 예를 표한다.

아직 공식적인 행사에서 듣지는 못했지만 주별로 각각의 상징을 다 가지고 그것을 유지한다는 것이 한국의 지방자치와는 상당히 다르다.

미국 대륙내에 있는 48개 주 중에서 가장 큰 면적을 가지고 있고 (가장 큰 주는 알래스카이나 미국 대륙에서는 조금 떨어진 곳에 있으니 제외), 약 2천 8백만 인구가 거주하고 있다.

1528년부터 스페인 탐험대가 들어오면서 시작되어 정착지가 건설되었고 멕시코에 속하다 1836년 텍사스 공화국 독립이 선포되어 독립국가로 있다 1845년 미국의 28번째 주가 되었다.
